Exploring the Vibrant World of Pet Industry Innovation at SUPERZOO 2023

The bustling city of Las Vegas recently played host to one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the pet industry – the SUPERZOO 2023 trade show. This event brought together a diverse spectrum of pet industry professionals, enthusiasts, and pioneers for a memorable showcase of all things furry, scaly, feathered, and finned. Literally, all creatures furry, scaly, feathered, and finned could be found under one roof. The event took place on August 16-18, 2023.

A Rich Legacy and Evolution

Established in 1950, the World Pet Association (WPA) introduced SUPERZOO as an annual platform for industry players to connect, learn, and conduct business. SUPERZOO has evolved into a crown jewel of the pet industry, embodying the essence of progress and collaboration. The event draws representatives from all corners of the pet world: groomers, retailers, buyers, manufacturers, pet companies of all shapes and sizes, veterinarians, and consultants, like BSM Partners. All contribute a rich tapestry of expertise and passion.

SUPERZOO attendees were treated to a diverse range of products and services, each designed to cater to the dynamic needs of modern pet owners and industry professionals. The enthusiasm this year was apparent as exhibitor booths were sold out and registration was capped over 21,000 individuals!

  

Evolving Identity

Adding a touch of excitement, this year marked the unveiling of SUPERZOO’s fresh, new logo – a symbol of the show's commitment to evolution and growth. The logo symbolizes a unique community that gathers with a shared passion for a diverse array of pets. The WPA greatly encourages the presence of all types of pets and drives to push the boundaries of pet care.

 

A Milestone Year for BSM Partners

While BSM Partners has been a frequent presence at SUPERZOO, this year marked a significant milestone – our debut as an exhibitor! Our booth found its home adjacent to the Emerging Brands area and the New Product Showcase. Noteworthy trends in pet products, such as a surge in freeze-dried formats, a strong focus on sustainability, and the stronger embrace of insect protein as a viable ingredient, were evident. Given the recent AAFCO approval of six different types of insect protein for pet products, the industry’s enthusiastic response was expected.
